Head to Los Angeles, where the excitement never stops. With plenty of fun in the sun (and after the sun goes down), LA is an urban oasis.
Trip Time: 5 days

Day 1
Start your trip with that most iconic of neighborhoods – Hollywood! From the Walk of Fame to Grauman’s Chinese Theatre , enjoy the entertainment capital of the world. Head for the Kodak Theatre , which hosts the Academy Awards. Joining a guided tour, you can take a close look at this landmark.

Next, shop at Hollywood & Highland ! This huge mall has many stores from high-end designer such as Louis Vuitton and Coach and casual favorites such as Bebe and Gap. Just a short walk away, enjoy dinner at Geisha House . This Ashton Kutcher-owned modern Japanese restaurant is filled with celebrities. The stylish décor, inspired by geishas and modern Japan, is truly unique.

Wrap up the day with entertainment – enjoy a Broadway musical at the Pantages Theatre . This beautiful Art Deco theatre was built in 1930 with a then-unprecedented $1.25 million. It now hosts popular Broadway musicals, but don’t forget to take a close look at the luxurious décor, too.

Day 2
Visit one of the world’s most famous theme parks, Universal Studios Hollywood . Spend the day thrilling at the rides and marveling at the movie sets. After you’ve had your fill of fun, shop and dine at the Universal City Walk . This adjacent open air shopping mall has many unique stores. It also has popular restaurants, such as the Hard Rock Café and Karl Strauss Brewery Garden .

Day 3
Head to Robertson Blvd., filled with stylish boutiques popular among young celebrities. Enjoy shopping at stores where celebrities have been spotted, such as Kitson , Lisa Kline and Madison . You can also find stores of L.A. designer denim, such as 7 for All Mankind  and Paige Premium Denim . Enjoy lunch at the Ivy, a cute restaurant always surrounded by paparazzi trying to get a shot of celebrities, then continue shopping on Rodeo Drive.

After you’ve shopped your heart out, indulge yourself at the Spa at the Beverly Wilshire . The Hollywood classic Pretty Woman was filmed at this luxurious hotel. Its elegant spa is known for its extensive celebrity cliental. You can relax at the beautiful poolside after the treatment. After you’ve revived your spirits, savor dinner at Cut . This stylish, modern steakhouse is owned by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck, and was nominated for James Beard Awards. Celebrities love this restaurant – Tom Cruise is just one.

Day 4
Head to the fabulous Getty Center  in the morning. After 13 years of planning, the Getty Center opened in 1997. This $1 billion project enables you to enjoy the extensive collection of oil magnate J. Paul Getty, including Van Gogh’s “Irises.” The architecture by Richard Meier is a must-see as well. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful Central Garden filled with flowers and a magnificent view of Southern California.

In the afternoon, enjoy the fabulous L.A. sun at the Santa Monica Pier . After strolling around this famous pier, you can visit Third Street Promenade , where you can find many popular stores. You can also walk to Venice Beach , or stroll around Abbot Kinney Blvd . A 5-minute walk from Venice Beach, this fun and exciting street is filled with unique indie boutiques, art galleries and cute cafes. Grab a gelato and wander around this sunny, relaxing street.

Head to the Griffith Observatory  to see a different set of stars, then enjoy world-class music at Walt Disney Concert Hall . The concert hall designed by Frank Gehry opened in October 2003. You can enjoy world-class music at this iconic music hall, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Day 5
Get your brain in gear for this exciting day – start by enjoying exciting modern art at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA). Next, head to Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). LACMA’s collection is widely considered the most comprehensive in the western United States. From ancient Egyptian to modern pop, you can enjoy all sorts of art here.

After visiting Petersen Automotive Museum , enjoy a great game. You can watch Major League Baseball (MLB) at Dodger Stadium  (have the famous Dodger dog), and cheer on your favorite players! If baseball’s not your game, catch some hoops at the Staples Center . The Staples Center is home to five professional sports teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers. This state-of-the-art modern arena also hosts megastar performances, such as Madonna and Bruce Springsteen.
